Anomaly - The clock-ins/outs for this day are odd
FollowThe clock-in/outs for this day are odd
This anomaly occurs when, on a working day, an odd number of clock-ins/outs is recorded, but the attendance model assigned to the employee specifies, under the “Clocking type” section, the option “Clock-in and clock-out”. See also Configure an attendance model
In this configuration, the system expects an even number of clock-ins/outs, based on a pairing logic: for every clock-in, there must be a corresponding clock-out.
If the total number of clock-ins/outs is odd, it means that a clock-in or clock-out is missing to complete the pair, and the system generates the anomaly.
How to resolve
-
If you are an employee
You can request the insertion of the missing clock-in/out directly in the system, in order to complete the expected clock-in/out pair and resolve the anomaly.
You can access it in three ways:
- If available on the homepage, click directly on the date from the Anomalies section
- From Attendance > Attendance Book > Days, by setting the Status at the top right to Anomalies
- Or directly from Attendance > Anomalies
How to proceed:
Click on the date corresponding to the anomaly in the Date column
Select the Request absence/clock-in button
From the dropdown menu, choose Clock-in or Clock-out, depending on which one is missing
Enter the date and time
Click Submit
-
If you are an Administrator or HR
You have two options to resolve this anomaly:
1. Approve the request on behalf of the employee
If you want to act as the employee, you can access the working day view and submit the missing clock-in/out, by selecting “Request absence/clock-in”.
After entering the data, instead of clicking Submit, click HR Approve to directly confirm the clock-in/out without going through the request process.2. Manually insert the clock-in/out from the “Events” tab
Alternatively, you can manually edit the working day:
Go to Attendance > Attendance Book > Days
Select the date with the anomaly
Go to the Events tab
Click on New clock-in/out
Enter the time and direction (optional – the system will recalculate the direction based on the time)
Set the correct Direction (Clock-in or Clock-out)
Click Process clock-ins/outs
This method is useful if you want to act directly in the employee’s attendance book, without going through the request workflow.
