The Geofencing feature allows the company to ensure that employees can only clock in or out when they are within a specific geographic area.
First, you need to create at least one Geofencing Terminal:
- Go to Settings > Application > Codings.
- Open the Terminals coding section.
To create a Geofencing Terminal:
- Click on the New button.
- Enter a Name.
- Select Geofencing Terminal in the Terminal model option.
- Click Save to confirm.
In the terminal configuration options, a map will now be available to define the area where the terminal will be active.
To position the terminal in the desired area:
- Enter a valid address in the map’s search box and press Enter.
- Click and hold the blue circle with the left mouse button and drag it to the desired location.
- Adjust the circle’s radius by dragging the white dots on its edges.
- Click Save to confirm the configuration.
Geofencing terminals can only define a circular area.
Next, configure the user so that they can only clock in/out using geofencing terminals:
- Go to Settings > Security > Users.
- Select a user or a non-system user group to which the employee belongs. See also Creating user groups
- In the Rights tab, enable the option: Altamira Attendance: User must clock in within a geofencing area.
For the geofencing feature to work, the company must also enable geolocation.
- Go to Settings > Account > Company Preferences.
- In the Cronos Webservice section, select the option Use geolocation.
