Configure an overtime slot
FollowTo configure a new overtime slot:
- Go to Settings
> Application > Codings > Attendance model
- Select the attendance model where you want to add the new overtime slot
- Click on New overtime
- Fill in the form with the required data
- Click Save
The form is divided into three sections:
OVERTIME SLOT
- Reason*: select the reason from the drop-down menu. The reason may vary depending on how the company manages employees’ overtime (e.g., whether overtime is paid and/or requires an approval request).
- Reason assigned to the successful final status*: this is the reason that will be assigned to the overtime if the request is approved.
- Reason assigned to the failed final status*: this is the reason that will be assigned to the overtime if the request is rejected.
- Maximum duration (hours/minutes): enter the maximum allowed duration for overtime (if applicable).
- Minimum duration (generate anomaly if not respected): enter the minimum duration of the overtime slot (if applicable). If not respected, the system will generate an anomaly.
- Minimum duration for slot creation: represents the minimum number of overtime hours below which the overtime slot will not be created.
- Duration rounding: enter the rounding value in minutes for the overtime duration.
Reduces duration by anticipating the slot end time (calculated after rounding the “Start/End time rounding” field).
- Duration rounding type: specify the rounding type for the duration set in the previous field.
- Up: increases the duration by postponing the end of the slot (calculated after rounding the “Start/End time rounding” field).
- Down: reduces the duration by anticipating the end of the slot (calculated after rounding the “Start/End time rounding” field).
- Mathematical: increases or reduces the duration by rounding it to the nearest value (calculated after rounding the “Start/End time rounding” field).
- No rounding
- Start/End time rounding: enter a value in minutes.
Postpones the slot start time based on the “From” value (see below).
Anticipates the slot end time based on the “To” value (see below).
START
In this section, you can set flexibility for the start time of the overtime.
- Accepted start from: enter the start time of the overtime (e.g., one hour before the regular working hours or, alternatively, 00:00).
- Accepted start to: enter the end time of the regular working hours.
- Next day: check the boxes if the times refer to the next day (i.e., exceed 23:59 of the current day).
END
In this section, you can set flexibility for the end time of the overtime.
- Accepted end from: enter the start time of the regular working hours.
- Accepted end to: enter the end time of the overtime slot (e.g., a couple of hours after regular working hours or, alternatively, 23:59).
- Next day: check the boxes if the times refer to the next day (i.e., exceed 23:59 of the current day).
Example: if an employee works from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and can perform overtime from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and then from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., without any rounding, the overtime slots should be configured as follows:
