"Chat" feature
FollowThis feature provides you with an additional tab in the right-hand panel on the edit pages of the sections where it’s available.
It’s currently available only in the edit of CVs received in response to a job ad (Recruiting / Job Ads section).
Below you’ll find the component’s features.
1. Information shown for each message
(Optional) Box with the message you’re replying to.
(Only for users linked to employees) Employee photo.
(Only for users linked to employees) Employee first and last name, or Username and—only if different—email.
Message send date.
Message text.
2. New message
You’ll find the new message box at the bottom of the chat.
You can enter multiple lines with Shift + Enter.
Press Enter or click Send new message to create the message.
Formatting is not supported.
The message is created under your name with the current date and time.
You can’t edit or delete messages after sending.
3. Replying to messages
Next to each message you’ll find the Reply button.
When you reply, you’ll see a box above the new message with the text you’re responding to.
You can remove the association by clicking the X in the reply box.
After sending:
The message will show the sender, send date, and a link to the message you replied to (no longer editable).
You’ll have an icon to preview the original message.
Clicking the box opens the original message; if needed you’ll enter Message history mode.
4. Pagination
On load you see the first 15 messages, with the most recent at the bottom.
When you create a new message or click Refresh (next to the search box at the top), the 15 most recent messages are reloaded.
Scrolling up shows Show more to load the previous 15 messages.
5. Message search
At the top of the chat you have the search field.
You can search across all messages in that chat.
The search starts automatically shortly after you start typing, or immediately by pressing Enter.
Once a search is applied, you enter Search results mode.
6. “Search results” mode
You see the first 15 results, with the most recent at the bottom.
To exit this mode, click the X in the search box.
Scrolling up shows Show more to load the previous 15 results.
In this mode you can’t create new messages.
For each result you can:
Reply to the message: you’ll exit the results and switch to the view of the latest 15 messages.
Open the original message (click the result text): you’ll exit the results and switch to the standard view or, if the message is older than the latest 15, to Message history mode.
7. “Message history” mode
Clicking a message older than the latest 15 takes you to Message history.
In this mode you view the context (the “page” of 15 messages) where it was sent.
There’s no time limit on messages you can view.
You can reply to a displayed message or create a new one; in both cases you’ll exit History and return to the latest 15.
Scrolling up shows Show more for the previous 15; scrolling down shows Show more for the next 15.
When you reach the latest 15 messages, you automatically exit History.
