Activities and interaction with workflows
FollowActivities and workflows are designed to interact closely. If your administrator has configured the workflow to include activities then assessing an activity will have an effect on the status and assessing a status will have an effect on activities.
Consider this simplified workflow:
- Status Screening. Assessment: Passed => move to status Summon for 1st Interview
- Status Screening. Assessment: Failed => move to status Not interesting
- Status Summon for 1st interview. Assessment: Passed => move to status 1st Interview
- Status Summon for 1st interview. Assessment: Failed => move to status Not interesting
- Meeting 1st interview. Assessment: Passed => move to status Hired
- Meeting 1st interview. Assessment: Failed => move to status Not interesting
In this workflow statuses and activities interact in the following way:
- When the Summon for 1st Interview status is assessed as Passed the workflow creates a new 1st Interview (that will need to be scheduled)
- When the 1st Interview activity is assessed as Passed the workflow moves the candidate to the status Hired
Activities that have been created automatically by workflows will have to be scheduled. In the previous example, the 1st Interview meeting will be created automatically but the workflow will not assign or schedule it. You can quickly see which activities need to be assigned or scheduled.
