Surveys and tests: creation, sending, and viewing
FollowAltamira surveys allow you to collect information, opinions, and ratings from candidates and employees. Each survey can have a different purpose (selection test, company climate survey, training needs assessment) and can combine multiple question types: multiple choice, rating scales, free-text responses, rankings, and more.
Creating a survey requires completing a form that determines its main characteristics, such as the name, the entity it is intended for (candidates or employees), and its activation status, as well as building the questionnaire using a dedicated editor. Once active, the survey can be sent to recipients, and responses are automatically collected on the platform.
Create a survey
- Go to More › Surveys and tests
- Click New
- In the Data section, complete the fields:
- Name: the survey title
- Entity: select Resume if the survey is for candidates, or Employees if it is for employees
- Active: select the checkbox to make the survey available for sending. You can send only active surveys
- In the Editor section, build the survey using the tabs described in the following paragraphs:
- Design the survey
- Survey preview
- Logic
- JSON Editor
NOTE. To save, you must start building the survey in the editor
To edit an existing survey, click it in the list and open the Editor tab.
To deactivate a survey, clear the Active checkbox. The survey remains in the list, but you can no longer send it.
Design the survey
In this tab, you build the survey. The screen is divided into three areas:
- on the left, the list of question types. To find one quickly, enter its name in the search field
- in the center, the workspace, with the survey you are building
- on the right, the settings panel
To add a title, description, and logo:
- Click Survey title and enter the title
- Click Description and enter a brief introduction
- To add the logo, click the image icon above the title
To add a question:
- Drag a question type from the list on the left to the workspace, or click Add question
- Enter the question text and answer options
- To delete an answer option, click the ⊖ icon next to the option
- Customize the question from the settings panel on the right
You can divide the survey into multiple pages (Page 1, Page 2…) to group questions into sections.
To undo or redo the last change, use the arrows in the upper-right corner of the workspace.

The settings panel is located to the right of the Design the survey tab. To open or close it, click the Settings icon (the bars with sliders) next to the undo/redo arrows.

- display mode and layout
- navigation between pages
- limits and controls for responses
- the final thank-you page
Survey preview
In this tab, you see the survey as the respondent will see it. If you need to correct something, return to the Design the survey tab.
If the survey does not contain any questions yet, the message No preview appears.
Logic
In this tab, you set rules that change the survey based on the answers provided. For example, you can show a question only if a specific answer was given to the previous question.
To create a rule:
- Open the Logic tab
- Click Add New Rule
- Next to if, click Choose... and select the question on which the rule depends
- Choose the condition (for example, is equal to) and the answer value
- Next to then, click Select action... and choose what should happen (for example, showing or hiding a question)
- Click Done
To delete a rule, click the trash can icon next to the rule. To quickly find a rule, use the filters in the upper-right corner, All Questions and All Action Types.
JSON Editor
In this tab, you can view the survey in technical (JSON) format and edit it. The changes also appear in the Design the survey tab.
NOTE. This tab is intended for advanced users. If you are not familiar with JSON format, use only Design the survey: an error in the code may damage the survey.
Send a survey
You can send a survey to candidates from:
- From Recruiting › CV Database: to one or more selected candidates
- From the individual CV tab: to the candidate you are viewing
- From job posting\project: to the candidates included in a job posting\project
To send a survey from the CV Database:

- Hover over Send survey
- In the list that appears, click the survey you want to send. The list shows only active surveys for candidates
-
A message on the screen confirms that the survey was sent successfully or reports an error
