360° Evaluation: Overview and Features
FollowThe 360° feedback evaluation collects multiple evaluations of the same employee from different people: direct reports or peers. The result is a complete and balanced view of their performance.
The feature is part of the Performance module and requires the 360° product. If you are interested in this feature, contact your sales representative.
What it is used for
- Collecting feedback from multiple perspectives: each evaluator completes the same questionnaire about the employee.
- Comparing responses: a dashboard brings the results together and displays them in charts.
- Monitoring progress: see in real time who has completed the questionnaire and who has not.
Differences compared to the standard evaluation
| Standard evaluation | 360° evaluation | |
|---|---|---|
| Who evaluates | The manager, using the evaluation form | Multiple evaluators, each with their own questionnaire |
| How it is completed | From the back office | Using a link received by email, without logging in |
| How results are viewed | In the evaluation form | In a dashboard that brings all responses together |
How a 360° project is organized
To open a project, go to Performance → Evaluation projects and click the 360° project you are interested in. You will find four tabs:
- Summary: the dashboard with the results of all surveys in the project.
- Properties: the project settings, questionnaire, and dashboard layout. How to use them is explained in the configuration article.
- Evaluations: the list of evaluations. The number next to the name indicates how many there are.
- Surveys: the list of all questionnaires sent to evaluators. Here too, the number indicates how many there are.
Summary: Reading the results
The Summary tab displays the results as charts.
- Only surveys that have been sent are counted, meaning those with the status Completed. Responses that an evaluator has saved without sending are not included in the results.
- If no survey has been sent yet, a message indicating that there is no data appears instead of the charts.
To filter the results:
- Click an element in a chart, such as a bar, slice, or value.
- The entire dashboard updates and displays only the data corresponding to that element.
- To remove the filter, click the same element again or click Clear filter.
Note: filters apply only to you and are not saved. They are reset when you reload the page or leave the project.
Evaluations
The Evaluations tab has one row for each position of the employee being evaluated. If an employee holds multiple roles, they appear more than once. For each role, they may have different evaluators, surveys, and results: a person may be highly effective in one role and less so in another.
For each evaluation, you can see:
- the evaluation status in the workflow
- the employee and their role in that position
- the manager and their role
- how many surveys have been completed out of the total
You can filter the list by status. When you open an evaluation, you will find two tabs:
- Summary: the dashboard for only the surveys in that evaluation. It is read-only and has the same filters as the project dashboard.
- Survey: the responses for that evaluation, including the evaluator, the evaluator’s role, status, submission date, and modification date.
Surveys
The Surveys tab lists all the project’s questionnaires, one for each evaluator in each evaluation. For each row, you can see the employee being evaluated and their role, the evaluator and their role, the submission date, the modification date, and the status. You can search the list and filter it by status.
When you click a survey, the read-only details open:
- You can see the evaluator, status, and dates, as well as the responses provided.
- If the survey has the status Draft, you can see the responses saved so far. The evaluator can still modify them.
- If the questionnaire has multiple pages, use Next and Previous to move between them.
- Click Export as PDF to download the responses.
Note: you cannot complete, modify, or delete a survey from the back office. Questionnaires can only be completed using the link sent by email.
Survey statuses
Statuses appear in English in the interface.
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Queued | The survey has been created but has not been sent yet. It is waiting for the evaluation to reach the sending status. |
| Dispatched | Sending is in progress. This is a temporary status. |
| Sent | The evaluator has received the email with the link. |
| Failed | The email could not be delivered. |
| Viewed | The evaluator has opened the link but has not yet saved or submitted anything. |
| Draft | The evaluator has saved the responses without submitting them and can resume later. |
| Completed | The evaluator has submitted the questionnaire. |
How the evaluator completes it
The evaluator receives an email with a link. The link opens a dedicated page that does not require logging in.
- When the evaluator opens the link, the survey changes to Viewed.
- The evaluator answers the questions. If they want to stop, they click Save and continue later on any page, even if required questions are unanswered. A confirmation message appears and the survey changes to Draft.
- To resume, they reopen the same link, even from another browser or device. They find the saved responses and resume from the page containing the last question they answered. They can save as many times as they want.
- When they are finished, they click Submit. The responses are submitted permanently, the survey changes to Completed, and a thank-you message appears.
If the evaluator reopens the link after submitting, they see a message indicating that they have already provided their feedback. The responses are visible in read-only mode.
If saving or submitting is unsuccessful, an error message appears. The responses remain on the page and the evaluator can try again.
What you see based on your permissions
What you see depends on your user permissions for the Evaluation projects object:
- Write, or the Manage evaluation projects permission: you see the complete project, with the Summary, Properties, Evaluations, and Surveys tabs.
- Read-only: you see only the Evaluations tab and, within it, only the evaluations you have access to.
A survey follows the same visibility rules as the evaluation it belongs to: you can see it only if you can see that evaluation. However, the evaluator can complete the questionnaire using the link even if they do not have any permissions for the project.
