Export attachments with visible extension
FollowExport attachments while keeping the file name and its extension visible, for example “1234.pdf”. Follow these steps to download the files correctly and in a recognizable way. In just a few clicks, you’ll have all documents available with their visible extensions, ready to be stored or shared.
- Create the view: Set up a view containing all the fields you want to export, including the field related to the attachment. See Create a view, Edit the fields of a view.

Create the export template: Go to the section dedicated to export templates and create a new one. See also Create or edit an export template.
In the dropdown field "Export attachments", select the option "in the main folder".
Also enable the checkbox "add the attachment extension in the field referring to the document", so that the files are exported with their full name (e.g. 1234.pdf).In the "View" field, select the view you created in step 1.

Export the data: Go to the report/list of the table of interest and click Actions > Export.
Select the export template created in step 2 and click Export. -
Download the data: Go to Other > Data export, then click the “Open” icon next to the export you just generated.
Finally, click Download to download the archive. See Export items from the platform.
You’ll obtain a .zip file containing:
- an Excel file with the name of each attachment and its corresponding extension (e.g.
1234.pdf) - the attached documents, saved in the same folder with names and extensions matching those listed in the Excel file
This allows you to easily identify and manage each attachment.
