Semantic Search
FollowSemantic Search is an advanced tool that allows you to perform targeted searches within the candidate database, using skills and professional experiences extracted from CVs through the resume parsing system.
With this feature, you can:
- Quickly find candidates with specific skills or experience in a particular role
- Automatically recognize synonyms and correct typos for more accurate results
- Combine semantic search with other search tools available in Altamira Recruiting
How Semantic Search Works
Accessing Semantic Search
- Use the AI widget in the free-text search box.
- Click on the AI icon to open the dedicated panel, where you will find fields and options to customize your search.
Available Fields

Professions:
- Search by (granularity): Adjust the search detail level using the slider. You can choose between Category, Subcategory, and Profession.
- Suggest: Select one or more relevant professions. Suggestions are filtered based on the chosen granularity level and include professions that are synonyms of the searched term.

Skills:
- Suggest: Select one or more specific skills to narrow down the search.
Filter Management
- Taxonomy Filter: Enable this option to limit results to taxonomies (professions and skills) already present in the database, meaning those extracted from CVs.
- Refresh: Update the taxonomy list in real-time, including information extracted from newly received CVs.

Synonym Recognition:
The system interprets synonyms used in CVs and associates them with predefined categories, improving search accuracy -
Automatic Error Correction:
Typos do not affect search results, ensuring higher precision -
Automatic Taxonomy Updates:
The database taxonomies are updated every 5 minutes to include the latest information extracted from CVs. Any new taxonomies are added automatically

Usage Example
Searching for a Profession:
- Access the AI panel and set the search level to “Profession”
- Type and select the profession “Customer Success Manager”
- Add skills such as “Data Analysis” and “Client Relationship Management”
- Start the search to generate a list of candidates matching these criteria
- At the end of the search, the system will display the matching score between the search criteria and candidates
Advanced Filtering:
- Enable the "Show only professions and skills present in the database" toggle to limit results to professions and skills available in your CV Database
- Use the Refresh button to update taxonomies and include the latest applications.
