Comparison operators
FollowWhile searching for data using the advanced search form the following operators are displayed between the label and the field. Comparison operators instruct the search engine how to match values in the selected field to the data.
The following operators are available:
- Equal: Equal to what is entered or selected
- Less than: Strictly less than what is entered
- Greater than: Strictly greater than what is entered
- Less than or equal to: Less than or equal to what is entered
- Greater than or equal to: Greater than or equal to what is entered
- Not equal: Not equal to what is entered
- Begins with: Begins with the characters that are entered
- Ends with: Ends with the characters that are entered
- Contains: Contains the characters that are entered
- Is not empty: That are not empty or not null
- Is empty: That are empty or null
- Hierarchical: That are equal to the selected item and any sub-items. For example, if you select the item Australia that has the sub items Melbourne and Sydney, then the Hierarchical operator matches fields whose value is Australia, Sydney or Melbourne
- In range: That are within the range that is entered
- Outside range: That are not within the range that is entered
- Contains (full text): Using the full text expression that is entered
