Field properties
FollowWhen you add a field to a form, you can access its properties to configure its settings. You can define the characteristics of the field, adapting it to the specific needs of the view it belongs to, ensuring optimal data management.
To access the field properties:
- Click on Settings > Application > View & Form Management from the main menu
- Click the edit icon for the form
- Click the field property icon
Label
- Description: the description of the field
- TagName: the tagname of the field. The tagname is a unique identifier and is used in the Career Centre when placing a field on the page
- Full path: the field's source location; for example, the “name” field in the CV comes from the Curriculum folder
- Custom field label: the text for the custom label
- Hide label: if selected, the label will remain hidden
Behavior
- Required: indicates that the field is mandatory. It is used to validate form-type views
- Read-only: the field is read-only and will be displayed as a label instead of a user interface widget (text box, dropdown list, etc.)
- Text to display when the field is empty or no item is selected: enter the text you want to display when the field is empty or no option is selected
- Height: the height of the field, e.g. text box, dropdown menu, etc.
- Width: the width of the field, e.g. text box, dropdown menu, etc.
- Widget: It is the way a field is displayed or filled out in the user interface. See also: Types of widgets and field display modes
