Altamira Recruiting is a highly customizable recruiting platform. A significant part of the customization capabilities comes from being able to create new lists, printouts, forms and reports (collectively called views) using both built in fields and custom fields. This capability is built around the following features:

The data model
The data model is a representation of the complex relational database structure underlying Altamira Recruiting. The representation is designed to display the complex structure in a user friendly way allowing users with a non-technical background to navigate the data structure in an intuitive way. Tables are connected to each other and simply by clicking on the connected table the fields in the table can be used in a report. There is no need for users to learn a query language such as SQL to be able to design sophisticated views combining data from multiple tables.

The view designer
The view designer allows users to easily create views. Users need only navigate the data model displayed in the left hand of the designer as a tree, drag the fields and drop them in the correct place. This allows users with no technical background to design forms for data entry, lists for use as tables, prints views, search forms and reports.

The renderer
The renderer creates the output combining the user selections made in the view designer with the underlying data model. Users do not interact directly with the renderer but make use of the lists, reports, forms and so on that have been designed.
